Swiss Clubs Zurich and Sion Closing in on Miroslav Klose
Swiss Super League heavyweights FC Zurich and FC Sion are thought to be in pole position to snap up the services of German veteran striker Miroslav Klose.
The 35-year-old German veteran’s contract with current employers Lazio is set to expire in the summer, and while the Italian side are already picking up the pace of their negotiations with the striker, hopeful clubs elsewhere are already homing in.
Indeed, according to Swiss news portal infoticker.ch, Klose could be playing in Switzerland’s top-flight come next season, as Zurich and Sion make known their interest in the striker.
Such an experienced target man could be valuable to any side, especially with Klose’s form not showing signs of slowing any time soon – his current tally of seven goals and five assists in 22 league games a testament.
Klose’s agent, Alexander Schutt, has already made public that his client is indeed talking with other clubs, but has not revealed whether those clubs include Zurich and Sion.
Klose started his footballing career in 1997, and has been phenomenal icon in Germany since, performing for the likes of Kaiserslautern, Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich before moving to Lazio.
