Inter Milan Think Fernando Torres Loan Deal

Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan are understood to be mulling over offering Chelsea a deal to acquire the services of out-of-favour striker Fernando Torres on a loan deal next season.

Torres, now 30 years old, seems to have lost his clinical goal-scoring touch when he moved to London with Chelsea after a very successful stint with Merseyside giants Liverpool. Indeed, his goals tally this season only totals nine scored in no less than 32 appearances in all competitions.

Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri are in the thinking that Torres’ form could be rekindled if he were to be brought to a new environment, and that environment may well be the famous San Siro.

Sure enough, according to Sky Italia, Inter are prepared to come to the table with Chelsea over a loan deal for Fernando Torres, allowing the Premier League club to recoup some of the £50m they reportedly paid for him back in 2011.

But with Chelsea lacking any in-form striker up front, it remains to be seen whether such a deal will push through.

Torres started his professional football career with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid back in 2001, scoring a total 91 goals in 243 appearances overall for Los Rojiblancos. He then moved to Liverpool in the 2007-08 campaign and took England by storm, scoring 81 goals in 142 appearances for the Reds before eventually moving to Chelsea in 2011.

Torres’ contract with Chelsea expires in 2016.
