Inter Chief Meets Tom Ince’s Agent in England for Transfer Talks

Inter Milan Chairman Erick Thohir is understood to have traveled to England in the past week to hold talks with the agent of Blackpool winger Tom Ince as the Serie A club step up their chase for the young Englishman, according to Tuttosport.

Inter are currently wallowing on fifth place in the Italian top flight with 50 points, a staggering 14 points adrift of the Champions League qualification spots with only six games left to play.

With the coveted chance to play in the Champions League no longer attainable this season, Thohir is stepping up his dealings in the transfer market to make sure that changes next season.

Enter Tom Ince. The promising young winger is thought to be firmly in the crosshairs of Thohir and is keen to make sure the kid follows in his father’s footsteps – Tom Ince’s father is former England captain Paul Ince, who also played for Inter Milan during his professional career.

Thohir’s travails to England is an attempt to lure the young Ince to the San Siro for free, as the young winger’s contract with Blackpool expires in June.

Tom Ince, 22, is currently on loan with struggling Premier League side Crystal Palace since January, scoring a goal and an assist in five appearances so far. Prior to that, he was on fire with Blackpool, scoring seven goals and six assists in 23 league appearances in the first half of the season.
