French and Italian Club Prospects Abound for Aleksandar Kolarov, Says Agent
Manchester City left-back Aleksandar Kolarov is high on the top of the wish list of many big-name clubs from French and Italian top-flights, his agent Dejan Joksimovic has revealed.
Kolarov, 28, has flourished under new City manager Manuel Pellegrini this season, playing a key role in his side’s chase for Premier League glory this season, providing a goal and seven assists in his 27 league appearances.
But with rumours rumbling that Manchester City could join Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United in the race snap up Southampton’s rising left-back Luke Shaw, there is a risk Kolarov could get marginalised again – just as he revealed he was during the time of former boss Roberto Mancini last season, which he admitted almost pushed him to an exit from the club.
On this occasion, however, his suitors have grown in number and in stature, a great escape plan for Kolarov should things don’t turn his way at Manchester City next season, or so his agent told Italian portal ASRomaRadio.it: “I can say that Roma are tracking him, but I don’t think that they can afford him.
“There are other clubs like Inter, AC Milan, Juventus and Monaco who are after him and can pay high amounts of money. At the moment there is nothing concrete,” Joksimovic added.
Whether or not Kolarov will indeed make his move away from the Etihad Stadium come the summer, however, only time can tell.
