Chelsea are said to be weighing up a offer for AC Milan star M’Baye Niang based on reports from the Daily Express.

Chelsea has been scouting the youngster for a few months and have made an approach as to the French Under 21 international’s availability.

AC Milan are not likely to be contemplating selling the remarkably performing attacker though Chelsea are seemingly ready to make a major money offer for the ex – Caen striker.

Abramovich is on the hunt for a new attacker with Fernando Torres apparently on his way out following a pretty terrible time at the club, although Chelsea are not likely to get anything like the £50m they spent in the previous Liverpool hero.

Niang is under contract till 2018 and as such the asking price for the youngster will be massive.

The rangy forward transferred to AC Milan in August and has so far made 14 performances, impressing several with his direct attacking displays, scoring one goal in the process.

Niang’s first team possibilities may be affected by the signing of Mario Balotelli in the month of January but an AC Milan departure seems highly improbable.

Abramovich has been eager to construct a squad for the long term, taking in a host of youthful talent previous summer, but a transfer for Niang could prove unsuccessful.
