Arsenal Eye Williams Swoop
The Guardian reports Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger is in the market for a Centre back and Swansea City’s Ashley Williams is a target for the London side after losing faith with his current central defensive partnership of Per Mertesacker and Thomas Vermaelen.
The Swansea skipper has been in excellent form in the English Premier League this campaign and also managed to lead his side to Capital One Cup glory last month.
Williams is a strong defender who is very good in the air and also well technically gifted play the ball to midfield with his fee. The Wales Captain would be an ideal buy for the Gunners considering their defensive problems however Wenger need to produce a fair bit of cash to lure the Wales international away from the Liberty Stadium.
The 28 year old has played 204 matches for Swansea City scoring 11 goals in the process.
