Arsenal could make big move for PSG midfielder Verratti

Arsenal are hunting up a summer transfer for Paris Saint Germain’s midfielder. Marco Verratti, according to stories in Italy and in Metro.

Arsenal have excellent midfielders like Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in their team but all have had trouble to cope with the injuries during their ‘not so good’ season. And now, looking to the future, a report coming out of Italy states Arsene Wenger is targeting Marco Verratti of PSG as crucial to their rebuilding.

The 21-year-old Verratti has been a regular for the French leaders this season, but with no desired goals in over 50 games since he finalized his contract in 2012, it’s thought Laurent Blanc may be prepared to cash in on the young midfielder.

TuttoMercato reports that the Gunners are prepared to offer £17million for Verratti, whose current contract runs until 2018.

PSG have Yohan Cabaye and Javier Pastore ready on covering, while the Gunners could see Verratti as the perfect long-term alternative for the aging Mikel Arteta.

On 18 July 2012, Verratti, dismissing the attention of the likes of Juventus, Roma and AC Milan, finalized a five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain in the French Ligue 1. It’s still unknown if the PSG midfielder is looking for a new adventure, only time will tell.
