AC Milan and Manchester United Set for Summer Bidding War for Simon Kjaer

Italian giants AC Milan and 20-time Premier League champions Manchester United are set for a collision course this summer over the purchase of Lille midfielder Simon Kjaer.

The 25-year-old holding midfielder is the newest addition to the growing shortlist David Moyes has for his Manchester United side, which have seen a lacklustre spell in the Premier League this season – with their mediocre midfield largely to blame.

But Moyes’ plans to reinforce his side’s midfield is set to be scuppered by AC Milan, with the Rossoneri also interested in buying Kjaer from Lille.

And now, according to Calcio Mercato, the two sides are set to come to a head this summer, as the two sides try their best and land Kjaer’s services.

Kjaer has already previously stated that he can only be “flattered” by the attention he is getting, telling Danish newspaper BT: “It is of course always flattering to be linked with big clubs.”

As to which club Kjaer eventually moves to in the summer, or should the Danish international make the move at all, remains to be seen.

Kjaer’s contract with Lille is set to run until 2017.
