Shock Beckham link to Bolivian champions Bolivar
[one_fourth last=”no”][/one_fourth] Fresh reports out of Bolivia today are suggesting the recently retired David Beckham is in line to seal a free transfer to current LFPB Torneo Clausura champions Bolivar.
The 38 year old retired at the end of last season after successfully adding yet another league championship to his name winning Ligue 1 comfortably with Paris Saint-Germain. Beckham has since returned to America where he will now start to build an MLS expansion team in Miami.
Beckham’s new franchise paid an expansion fee of $25m and he got some financial backing from billionaire Marcelo Claure, who will have a stake in the team.
Claure is the owner of the South American’s Bolivar and he is using his personal influence to nudge Beckham in the direction of the team known as La Academia. It would not be a full time contract and Beckham would be on a pay-as-you-play deal only participating in Bolivar’s Copa Libertadores matches.
Although ageing and retired Beckham still has the passion, hunger and desire to play. He retains his magical set piece abilities and has a superior knowledge and understanding of the game and can dictate play superbly from a deeper lying role. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star has bought success both on and off the field wherever he has played and should he sign for Bolivar they are sure to garner worldwide attention and fame.
Claure posted the picture below on his Twitter account and added “My associate in the MLS and maybe he wants to visit Bolivia and… fill the rest in yourselves.”
Club president Guido Loayza similarly announced that there is a chance of getting Beckham’s signature “even if it’s only for a couple of games in the Copa Libertadores”.
