Clint Dempsey having medical at Fulham
[one_fourth last=”no”][/one_fourth]Fan favourite Clint Dempsey is set to return to Craven Cottage shortly and he is currently undergoing a medical at the London club. He has agreed to sign a short team loan deal that will see him stay at the club for around 2 months during the MLS off season.
Dempsey originally signed for Fulham in 2007 from the New England Revolution before securing a move in 2012 to Tottenham Hotspur. At the time he was one of the hottest properties in the Premiership and Liverpool too were showing a great interest in signing him. Dempsey failed to impress the Spurs hierarchy during his time at the club and has since returned to America, now plying his trade for the Seattle Sounders.
Fulham have been in free fall recently and have found themselves stranded near the foot of the table. New owner Shahid Khan moved quickly recently to replace Martin Jol with fellow Dutchman Rene Meulensteen hoping to bring about a change in fortunes, and it currently seems to be have paid off.

The signing of the American international will no doubt bring Fulham the goals and creativity they seriously crave. He notched 60 goals in 225 games during his first spell at the club and his all-round consistency and energy always earned him rave reviews.
Head coach Meulensteen said: “He’s having a medical and we’re looking into that. It would be a real boost for us. Hopefully that will all work out.”
He can play in a variety of positions and if the Cottagers are to avoid relegation this season they are going to need all the quality they can get and Dempsey can certainly provide them with that.
