It has been reported that Barcelona goal keeper, Victor Valdes is to face a bidding war for his services as AS Monaco has placed a formal offer for him. Manchester City has been heavily linked with the shot stopper and the recent bid by the French Club is expected to force City to respond by doing what they do best and splash the cash.

Since Joe Hart’s dismal performances this season, a huge hole at the goal keeping position has been created. I don’t think they have thrown in the towel on the England International but they certainly cannot rely on him to regain the form he once had in the past few seasons.

Paris Saint-Germain has also been linked with the 31 year old Spaniard but out of all three teams, it would seem Manchester City would be the perfect fit. The keeper has not said much about his situation, only admitting that offers were indeed on the table. His future is currently in an air of uncertainty and no one really knows if he will even leave Barcelona to begin with.

It is obvious he doesn’t want to become a distraction to the team and he has done well so far to keep things on a lid. As the transfer window draws closer and closer things will definitely heat up between Monaco and City as they prepare a bidding war for the services of Victor Valdes.
