Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris Prime Target for Paris Saint-Germain
Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are setting their sights on Tottenham Hotspur’s strong shot-stopper Hugo Lloris, according to French daily L’Equipe.
The 27-year-old Frenchman is doing well at White Hart Lane this season, notching 12 clean sheets thus far, the third best in the Premier League – a commendable feat considering the attacking quality of the clubs in England.
And such a pair of reliable hands is certainly welcome at the Parc des Princes. Indeed, club insiders have revealed that the PSG hierarchy are keeping their options open with Lloris, especially with rumours circulating that the goalkeeper could leave Tottenham should the North London side not qualify for Champions League this season.
Apart from that, PSG chiefs are uncertain of Sirigu’s shot-stopping abilities in the international stage, with the keeper’s mettle yet to be thoroughly tested in the Champions League.
Any move from the PSG at this juncture, however, will certainly be met with great resistance from Spurs. Therefore, whether or not Lloris does make a move in the summer, is still up for debate.
Lloris made his move to England from French side Lyon in the summer of 2012 for an overall value of €15m. His contract with Spurs is set to run until 2016.
