Midfielder Marco Verratti Reiterates Desire for PSG Stay Amid Juventus Links
Paris Saint-Germain central midfielder Marco Verratti has effectively rubbished talk he could swap France for Italy next season with Serie A heavyweights Juventus thought to be firm admirers of the player.
Verratti, 21, is currently living up to his potential as a midfield general in his stint with Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain. Indeed, in his 42 appearances for the club in all competitions so far, he has already notched in eight assists – not a bad record for a up-and-coming young player.
And it appears the Bianconeri are keen to tap in to such potential and are very much keen to bring the Italian international to their club. Other big-name sides, like Arsenal and Real Madrid, are also believed to be interested in the 21-year-old.
But Verratti has moved to categorically affirm his loyalty with PSG, stating in a recent interview with Sky Italia: “Every year they say that I am going to [Juventus]. I am honoured with this, but I am happy in Paris.
“The club counts on me, they make me feel important,” the midfielder hailing from Pescara in Italy further explained.
While Verratti has already made clear his intentions for next season, it remains to be seen if Juventus, or any other of the midfielder’s admirers, will yield or continue their chase for PSG’s rising star.
