Marseille Join Race to Sign Manchester United Target Adil Rami
Ligue 1 side Marseille have joined the list of suitors keen to snap up Valencia’s sturdy centre-back and French international Adil Rami, according to Spanish daily Super Deporte.
Rami, 28, is currently in fine form on loan with Italian heavyweights AC Milan, where he has already appeared in 14 league appearances, scoring three goals and notching an additional two assists.
And while Milan have a buying option etched in the player’s loan deal, this has not stopped other clubs from taking an interest on the French defender.
True enough, Rami has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in recent months, as Red Devils boss David Moyes seeks to reinforce his leaky defensive line.
But now it appears that Marseille have risen as shock contenders to win Rami’s coveted signature, and are prepared to meet Valencia’s €7m valuation of the player to bring the defender to France.
Rami, for his part, has remained noncommittal to the rumours surrounding him thus far and fans can only wait until the transfer market re-opens in the summer to see if the French defender signs for a new club.
