In-form Spanish side Atletico Madrid are targeting a serious move to sign Chelsea pair Juan Mata and Kevin de Bruyne, says the Daily Star.
One would envision it possible that Jose Mourinho would pay attention to offers for Belgian youngster De Bruyne, who has battled to make an impression since being brought into the Blues squad after a productive season on loan at Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.
The teenager will be searching for regular first team football to help maintain his dominant role in the national team set-up ahead of the 2014 World Cup finals.
Manager Vicente Calderon may well see Mata as an perfect substitution for impressive playmaker Koke, who could be set to abandon the club, and maybe the Spanish international would welcome a move back to his country after being frozen out of the Chelsea starting eleven for much of the present campaign.
That said, the 25 year old has featured in the latest fixtures and one wonders if Atletico Madrid could manage to pay for the fee required to land the hugely skilled Chelsea star.
Atletico Madrid presently sit level on points with Barcelona in the La Liga table and easily eased through to the last sixteen of the Champions League.
