Schalke Interested in Snapping Up Monaco Youngster Anthony Martial
Bundesliga side Schalke are understood to be pondering their options as they consider making a move for Monaco’s 18-year-old striker Anthony Martial.
Martial has been showing great glimpses of superstar quality in the current season with the rich Ligue 1 side, scoring two goals in ten league appearances so far.
Such promising talent is something Monaco are definitely keen to keep in their club, and they have already endeavoured to do so by signing the player to a long-term contract recently which will see Martial tied with the club until 2018.
Nevertheless, according to French daily L’Equipe, Schalke are ready to match any valuation Monaco will put on Martial’s head as Die Konigsblauen bid to bring the player to the Veltins-Arena.
Monaco, however, are likely to ask for a huge sum for Martial consider the recently-penned contract extension deal.
Martial started his professional footballing career with another French side Lyon in 2012 but he ultimately failed to cement his place in the senior team and was sold to Monaco a year later.
