Atletico Mineiro Striker Jo in Borussia Dortmund Viewfinder
Atletico Mineiro goal-scorer and Brazilian international Jo is thought to be Borussia Dortmund’s next transfer target as the Ruhr giants step up their efforts to replace the out-going Robert Lewandowski.
Dortmund’s star target man Lewandowski is set to leave the Signal Iduna Park next season, having agreed a very public and high-profile deal with historic treble-winners Bayern Munich beforehand as his contract is set to expire by then.
Now Dortmund have made strides to preempt the vacuum to be left by Lewandowski and have already signed a pre-contract agreement to purchase Adrian Ramos from Hertha Berlin in the summer.
Discontented, Der BVB are keen to add another goal-machine in their ranks, setting their sights on Mineiro star Jo, according to Portuguese daily O Tempo. Indeed, the Brazilian striker has been in great form last year, scoring 19 goals in 52 appearances in all competitions.
The striker’s rich history of previous clubs will also add another layer of assurance for Dortmund, with Jo having been successful in his stints with Corinthians, CSKA Moscow and Manchester City.
Jo’s contract with Mineiro is set to expire in 2015.
